Synopsis

This book exposes the serious problem of violence against women, exacerbated even more during the pandemic. The authors present the harsh reality that many women have faced in a context where confinement and restrictions have exacerbated gender violence. The cultural and social roots that perpetuate violence against women are examined, contextualizing the problem before delving into the specific impact of the pandemic. It is evident how quarantine and social distancing trapped many women in abusive situations, often leaving them without viable escape options.
The focus on the protective measures implemented during the pandemic was highlighted. Government responses and civil society initiatives are critically analyzed, evaluating their effectiveness and pointing out areas for improvement. In addition, it highlights cases of success and resilience.
