Health prevention plan for non-communicable diseases

This book presents a model health prevention plan to reduce the prevalence of non-communicable diseases. To this end, surveys were administered to 199 people involved in the case study. The research revealed that disease prevention activities, as well as information about them, are scarce and limited, and their dissemination through media such as informational brochures and websites has a low reach. Consequently, more than 50% of respondents reported having lost a family member to a non-communicable disease. Furthermore, those interviewed recognized the importance of having an informative and educational prevention plan for the insured population.

In light of these results, a proposal was developed for the implementation of a prevention plan focused on carrying out activities at the three levels of prevention: primary, secondary, and tertiary. This aims to reduce the incidence of non-communicable diseases and promote healthy habits among the insured population, based on the principle that preventing an infection is more cost-effective than treating it.
