Synopsis

The book titled intestinal microbiota and breastfeeding in neonates in highlands shows everything related to breast milk, intestinal microbiota and the neonate, in addition to establishing a link between the three components and is structured in five chapters. The first chapter is aimed at describing the intestinal microbiota, its functions, development and composition and what foods help with its development. The second chapter covers breast milk, which explains its composition, benefits for both mother and child, exclusive breastfeeding and complementary feeding. In the third chapter, the intestinal microbiota in the newborn is reviewed, as well as feeding in babies and the relationship between the microbiota and breast milk.

The fourth chapter analyzes the field study carried out at Hospital III EsSalud located at 3824 meters above sea level. in Juliaca, through the analysis of samples obtained from meconium. The fifth chapter develops a reflection on the relationship between the intestinal microbiota and breastfeeding, as well as adequate nutrition for the newborn. The last part of this book concludes with a series of bibliographic references resulting from theoretical investigations and annexes are attached that show the collection instruments used for the study.
