Synopsis

The stage of adolescence is a process of human development where most hormonal and physical changes occur. Likewise, adaptations of behaviors with regulations and social stereotypes occur, which does not necessarily imply a positive relationship between the adolescent and social reinforcements. In addition, it is during adolescence that sexual life begins for many young people in relation to their physical and hormonal development. However, as novices, adolescents need a correct education so that they make the best decisions regarding the experience of sexual life.
Comprehensive sexual education turns out to be an important pedagogical method to inform adolescents about the repercussions of a sexual life in ignorance of the consequences; Likewise, such education allows the development of individual and social values with which adolescents can responsibly commit to their sexual life (Motta et al., 2017). On the other hand, comprehensive sexual education prioritizes access to information about reproductive and sexual health for adolescents with the priority that they can develop with confidence in sexual interaction; In addition, preventive education and positive benefits should be sought in order not to focus on fear of sexual practices (Obach et al., 2017).
On the other hand, through comprehensive sexual education, the level of knowledge of the use and benefits of contraceptive methods is increased, in addition to the various topics that sexuality implies, such as eroticism and sexual pleasure (Saeteros et al., 2016). Thus, comprehensive sex education becomes a new need for today's informed and communicated society, where aspects such as culture and emotions must be considered to understand the deep dimension of early sexuality in adolescents and their sexual behavior ( Garzon, 2016).
The lack of sexual education in adolescents produces an increase in the levels of unplanned pregnancies, since the access and guidance of information on sexuality, contraception and social programs allows adolescents to take responsibility for their active sexual life. If this is not done, unplanned pregnancy occurs, which constitutes a social and public health problem, since adolescents are at physical and emotional risk regarding the consequences of early pregnancy (Castillo, 2016).
Likewise, unplanned pregnancy reveals problems related to misinformation about the use of condoms, in addition to the consumption of psychoactive substances at an early age and the lack of communication between the parents and the adolescent (Vega, 2019). Thus, many consequences related to unplanned pregnancy in the adolescent stage are recognized, such as school dropout, social pressure, low self-esteem, complications before and during childbirth, infections, hemorrhages, rejection of the family, among others (Gálvez et al., 2016; Romero et al., 2018; Triviño-Ibarra et al., 2019).
For these reasons, structured and configured family planning is required for adolescents so that they are capable of not incurring a pregnancy during their adolescence, where there are serious physical and social repercussions.
